After a long day on the job, even Death needed a break.
So the Grim Reaper slipped into the bathroom, sat down, lit a cigar and opened the newspaper.
Five quiet minutes.
That was all he wanted.
Then he saw the headlines…
“What the hell happened out there?”
The joke is simple:
Death hides in the bathroom for a quick break, opens the newspaper—
and realizes the world is somehow even more chaotic without him.
Funny? Absolutely.
But also strangely familiar.
Because some days, after work, calls, problems and bad news, you don’t want to fix anything.
You just want to sit down, shut the door, and say:
“Not my problem for the next five minutes.”
At first glance, it’s funny.
Then you notice the newspaper.
The cigar.
The exhausted “I’m done for today” attitude.
And suddenly it feels strangely familiar.
